Below are the typical/average measurements for room spaces in a house.
To calculate the cubic volume multiply the floor area by the ceiling height (eg. 2.40m)
Single or Standard Bedroom
In newer homes, the typical size of a single bedroom is 3.0 metres x 3.5 metres = 10.5 square metres.
Air volume 25 cubic metres (1 Unovent)
In older houses, it is likely to be smaller eg. 2.5 metres x 3.0 metres = 7.5 square metres.
Air volume 18 cubic metres (1 Unovent)
Double or Master Bedroom
In newer homes, the typical size of a double bedroom is 4.0 metres x 4.0 metres = 16 square metres.
Air volume 38 cubic metres (1 Unovent)
In older houses, it is likely to be smaller eg. 3.5 metres x 3.5 metres = 12.25 square metres.
Air volume 29 cubic metres (1 Unovent)
Usually the size of a bedroom includes the wardrobe. If it is a separate walk-in wardrobe then the wardrobe is likely to be 4.0 square metres i.e. 2.0 metres x 2.0 metres. (no additional Unovent required)
1.6 x 2.3m = 3.7 sqm
(If a clothes dryer is used here, should have rapid removal of air using an extraction fan. No Unovent required)
Dining and Kitchen
Separate Dining room
3.0 x 3.0m = 9.0 sqm
(If not already ventilated, 1 Unovent optional)
2.7 x 4.0m = 10.8 sqm
(Should have rapid extraction using a rangehood and/or an extraction fan. No additional Unovent required)
Study and Family Rooms
2.8 x 2.4m = 6.72 sqm
Air volume 16 cubic metres (1 Unovent optional)
Typical Family Room
4.5 x 4.0m = 18 sqm
Air volume 43 cubic metres (1 vent)
Note: The above sizes do vary. Measure your own home if you think its not typical. Why not utilise the Unovent free advisory service by sending a scanned copy of the floor plan. This can be marked up by us with the positions of the Unovent outlets required and returned to you to allow you to purchase the correctly sized Unovent system kitset.
